In 1956, the founder of the Gaetano Bonifacio Group began producing Sodium Silicate in Argentina. The first batch of 300 tons was supplied by William Chemicals. Over time, the company expanded its operations, installing two additional units in Uruguay and Brazil. COPASIL (Companhia Paulista Silicatos) was one of these new units, marking the group's significant growth and geographical diversification.
